Updated: Bandits attack Emir of Kaura Namoda’s convoy, kill 3 policemen, 5 others

Bandits reportedly attacked the convoy of the Emir of Kaura Namoda’s convoy, Sanusi Muhammad Asha, killing three policemen and five other people in the process.

The incident occurred last night when the traditional ruler was returning to his base in Zamfara State from Abuja.

The Emir, according to sources was in his official vehicle with a Toyota Hilux forming part of the convoy. He didn’t sustain any injury but eight lives were lost including the driver, two palace guards, three police escorts and two traditional title holder.

The incident led to the Emir spending the night at Funtua police station.

Meanwhile, the Kaura Namoda Emirate Council is already making arrangements to convey the bodies of those killed for burial later today.
